How to Cancel an In Effect Mexico Auto Insurance Policy

The rules governing cancellations of Mexpro's car insurance policies were disclosed before you purchased, and are printed in your policy documents. Cancel easily using our online cancellation form or by calling us toll free at (855) 639-7761. Please have your policy number and be prepared to provide a notarized letter of cancellation stating whether or not you entered Mexico.

Any in-effect policy shorter than 6-months is not eligible for cancellation if the insured vehicle has entered Mexico.

Options for Canceling a Policy That Is Already In Effect

If you entered Mexico during the time your policy is in effect you MUST communicate this to us.

My Trip Was Canceled

If your policy is in effect and your vehicle has NOT entered Mexico, please complete our online cancellation form or call us toll free at (855) 639-7761 to cancel. Be prepared to provide additional documentation such as a notarized letter of cancellation. A cancellation fee will apply.

Returned Early / Decided Not to Stay Long-Term

6-Month Policies

Six month policies are eligible for cancellation only within the first 20 days of being in effect.

Annual Policies

Annual policies are eligible within the first 30 days. After this, they are no longer eligible for refund and are fully earned.

Our Mexico auto policies are pro-rated using the cancellation window (20 days for 6-month, 30 days for annual), not the term of the policy. Our 6-month and annual policies carry a high discount; canceling them early removes this discount.

Any policy shorter than 6-months is not eligible for cancellation.

Refunds

All refunds are credited back to the credit card used to purchase the policy. You should see the refund within one to three business days; this can vary depending on your card company. All cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee.
